I would say get in touch with Tuned Up Custom Rods… He is a member on this site and contributes as well.. I have just received two precision noodles with the REC guides. I really like them and the quality seems top notch… Turn around was just shy of two weeks…

Give them a call and talk with each custom rod builder and then you make the decision for yourself.. They should be able to make you feel real comfortable purchasing a custom rod…

here is John’s contact info..He is who I talked to when I ordered mine..

I just picked up a couple from “Brickers Custom Rods” @ (260) 615-6078. Look GREAT and can’t wait to use them. Adam Bricker posts a lot on Facebook, if you want to take a gander at his work.

If you’ve got the time, you should be able to go to the ice show this weekend and see Tuned Up Custom, Thorne and DH custom.

There might be others at the show too, but I know those three will be there with rods to sell. If you’re not sure exactly what you want, this might be a good option. If you know what you want and want it a little more custom, I’d call around and see who has the time to make it, waiting to the show might be pushing it too late.

Thorne Brothers, ask for Lonnie. If made in the USA means anything to you, stay away from the china rip-offs please. If you arent sure where the blanks come from ask the man building them. Simple Yes or No.

By far my favorite.. Haven’t found anything else come close.

Last year was tough cause they couldn’t get power noodle blanks.. The company they use had other things take priority..

Just picked up 2 rods that needed some off season work from Thorne Bros, and left another one that I want a new reel seat and handle on.

Lonnie was great helping me out with what would work best.
