    Howdy,

Last week I got an interesting birthday present, “The Tie Fast Combo Tool”. I know most of you guys don’t fly fish and will never need a nail knot, however this tool does other knots quickly and easily too. It does great job of splicing two different sizes of mono together making a stronger knot than a blood knot, and it also works well for snelling hooks. You guys who tie your own spinner rigs might be interested.

Think that double nail knot is better than a uni to uni for tying leaders? Using that tool sure looks easier than fumbling line around my fingers when they are cold.

Well I was able to tie that back-to-back nail knot splice right off the bat, it’s easy with this tool. Maybe I should sit outsidse and let my hands get really cold and try it

The double-uni has always been a tough for me so I’ve been using the blood knot. I mess that one up about /3rd of the time. I think I’m going to like having this tool.

No doubt about it, gotta have one. As many snells as I tie in a winter it’d pay for itself in no time. Thanks for the heads-up jerr

I have that same knot tying tool and it works slick. However, the only time I use it is when I’m doing the spring fly fishing thing.

I think the tool is slick…. I like how easy the double nail knot looks. Guess I was asking if anyone has thoughts on it vs Uni knots? I think even doing uni to uni knots, this tool could make them easier and faster?

I also have one. One thing that I like is that if you have fat FINGERS it works with you as you are tying knots.

It looks handy, where do we get one of these instruments.

    Thanks,

I found the tool pretty cheap on amazon.com, free shipping as well.

Has anyone tried this on any of the new super lines? Like the Nanofill. my bet would be the line is to slick and would not lock in on itself like a mono would.
