Saw some gloves today that got me thinking about cold weather fishing…hard and mostly soft water.

Seirus gloves…looked like the real deal…anybody use them and can provide a comparison / review?

Here’s what I need: Gotta be waterproof, easy to grip stuff, and use while fishing…

set of latex gloves under some lughtweight jersey gloves is all I ever use, hands get a little cold but not too bad. Use of nitrile/latex gloves under any gloves makes a huge difference, they’re water proof and wind proof, plus then your hands stay clean while handling and cleaning fish.

Scott I bought some of those Seirus from [censored] and I think their junk !! Hands get real cold in them. I wear my Ice Armor gloves when driving the boat or pulling the sled. Then I wear the thin Under Armor gloves while actually fishing.I wish they made the same exact glove only waterproof. But I’ll have to try that latex idea.

I’m going on my second year of the Frabill FXE Task glove…

Best glove to date for me so far…

I run my squeeler with them.. my auger with them and then still able to use a spinning reel or my pulsator with out a problem.. After a weekend of fishing they stink like dried up fish slime and I throw them in the washer and dryer and they are as good as new… as good as new/used anyways

For me, and for some odd reason I hate using gloves for open water fishing. If I have to I like to use mechanicx gloves.

I have two pair of those seirus gloves and I LOVE them. They are pricey, about $25 to $30 a pair, but worth it. Not heavy, but great material. They shed water and you can slide a heavier pair over them really easy if the need arises. Yes, I highly recommend them!

I just got some under armour gloves that are the thin neoprene type. Great for fishing this time of year. Thin and light for sensitivity yet warm and great for blocking wind.

Latex gloves then put a hand or toe warmer on the back of your hand then a pair if mechanics gloves. Slip on ice armor mittens while running around. Works for me throwing muskie baits all the way until the ice is to thick to break with hull. If your a muskie guy switching your grip to a forearm grip will help keep your rod hand drier.

For me, I like rag wool fingerless gloves. I’ll wear ice armor gloves when driving the boat or ATV, but for fishing, I like my finger tips exposed. I can fish in temps down into the teens without my hands really getting cold.

I cant fish with regular gloves. I am without or jersey gloves. Same with hunting. Jersey gloves are forgiving enough so I can feel stuff. I usually take mulitiple pairs ice fishing since they get wet fast when you are catching fish.

I use the Simms Windstoppers, they are some nice gloves.
