First time poster, long time lurker! I will be ordering a new multispecies glass boat this fall/winter. The max HP rating of the boat is being increased from 175 to 200. I would really like a ProXS, but according to the Merc website a 200 ProXS is not available in a 25″ XL shaft length, it is only available in the 20″ L Shaft length. From what I can find in doing some research it would appear that until recently the 200 ProXS and 200 Opti were the same, but that is now different. Does anyone know if and when Merc will offer a 200 ProXS in a 25″ XL shaft length? I am leaning towards the lighter 175 ProXS over the standard 200 Opti, but would love a 200 ProXS. Any insight or assistance would be much appreciated.

Not in the near future is what they told me, I also wanted the long leg 200xs. I opted for the 175 xs over the 200 opti also.

check with your dealer or call Merc direct because most boats are now 25″ the difference between 200 and 175 is only 3 or 4 mph diffence is it worth the price diff ?? there is a big difference with xs one is the reeds are carbon fiber makes for a better running motor and more economical

depending on how much you want the 200 you could just buy the kit yourself and add the 5 inches. The kit will cost around $6-700. Not sure it would be worth the added cost though.
