I plan on being in Grand Rapids in a couple weeks. The morning temperature may be 32 Degrees. My question is, if the thermostat is closed will the motor pee out the hole the same as a warm engine, less, or not at all until it warms up?
    Thanks, Bruce

Yes, down to about 0 everything should operate the same.

Water goes from the pump into the water jacket and head where there is a port to the pee hole. once the thermo opens water then flows from jackets into the motor leg and out. You can run that motor with out a thermo as well.

If the pee is not working you most likely have.

    — a plugged pisser or kink in the hose to it.

    — a faulty/ broken water impeller.

    — it is VERY cold out and the pisser gets froze up for the first few minutes. were talkin 0 to see this.

My 01 2 stroke 40hp yamaha has always pumped water right away even below freezing
