I have had a friend from the board ask me how I like my new Chene Anchor. I have not had the chance to use it yet so I was wondering if some of you guys have used one and how you like it? Any information you can provide would be much appreciated. Thanks, Bill

I bought the one for the next size bigger boat and i couldn’t get it to stick in gravel or smooth hard bottom…and I also bent the tips on mine too…I wouldn’t waste your money….

    but thats just my opinion….

I have been looking for a better anchor for my Crestliner 1750 Sportfish. My 20lb Navy anchor just doesn’t cut it well enough in the wind and current. I would like to get one that won’t cause a Hernia!! I’ve considered a Chene in the largest size, but now I don’t know. Has anyone tried the Digger Anchor and if so, how do you like it? Looks like it will require plenty anchor rope, probably 150′ to cover most situations.

I bought the chene anchor this winter…I don’t have a chain on it….but you need to have current/wind to have them work. Since I do most of my fishing on LAKE St Croix, it will hold….then if the boat swings a little…it doesn’t. I would think with the current of the Miss, it would hold good..but on Pepin….don’t waste your money.
