stuck down on transom saver, got to the ramp this am and tilt would not go up off of the transom saver, usually if I just toggle a little down it will go back up, not the case today. Now I am in the driveway trying to get the motor up to remove the transom saver – to no avail – jammed into lower bracket and motor tight against the rubber mount.

Will I have to cut off the transom saver??? THANKS

If you can’t get it fixed, there should be a screw in the t/t cylinder where you’d refill the fluid. That screw will release the pressure on the fluid and allow you to raise and lower the motor by hand. This won’t fix the problem, but it will allow you to get the transom saver out.

Grump, hit the motor with a rubber mallet before removing that screw.

…and if you do remove it, do it SLOOOWly. It’s under pressure.

If it is a 2011, why not let the dealer take care of it for you. Warranty?

Did you hear any noise at all? Or is it just completely dead?

This may sound dumb but I’ve had this happen and the power just got disconnected.

I had this happen to me – just had to adjust a screw nut on the side of the pump. Must have wiggled lose after a trip. Check the pump if that is how yours operates.

thanks everyone, released the pressure and got the saver out. (learning) I wonder if the fluid resevoir is leaking and is fine going down but screw going up? I think I need a book, as far as the dealer, well it’s 40 miles away.

Most motors have two relays—one for going up and the other for going down. It is not uncommon for one to die. If you can find them just switch them around and it should go down and not up if that is the problem.

I’d schedule an appointment with the dealer and have it checked out under the warranty.

Etechs do come with great warranties. I wasnt so impressed with the rest of the motor.
