I am looking for a little advice on what depthfinder I should be looking at. looking to hook it up to the i pilot. Do all depthfinders work with it or does one work better than the other? What is everyone else using??

Only birds will work with the I-Pilot. I think you will have to go with a 700 series or higher. I just installed a 788ci HD DI and am very happy with it, I just have to solve the rooster tail problem.

Look at the various US2 connectors that Minn Kota makes. They have them for different brands of locators to hook up non-Johnson marine products to your ipilot. I’m using a Lowrance on my bow, connected to my ipilot.

There should be a black rubber piece that fits in your transducer bracket .Or wrap electical tape around the opening this will stop the rooster tail problem

To clarify only humminbirds will work with the new ipiolt link. Most brands of depth finders can be hooked up to a trolling motor with ipilot and universal sonar. To use the depth finder you just need the right us2 cablefor your dethrone finder.

You have it hooked to the universal sonar and not the I-pilot, nothing hooks up to the standard I-pilot. Pretty sure the “I-pilot Link” is not even available quite yet to the normal guys and will be Humminbird only.

As many have said you can run any unit into the universal sonar but in order for the I pilot link to work from my understanding is the h bird systems ending in 8 will work with link..
