Anybody use the 8′ Mitchell rod for pulling core? They still have the buy 1 get going right now so the price is right. I’d like to upgrade from my cabela rods to something a little nicer and longer. Otherwise I’ll wait til next year and look into the eyecon or limit creek rods.

I believe the JM’s are sold out….good deal, but I like my LM’s better anyways…no experience with the eyecons, but have heard good things.

Don’t leave Scheels pro classics out of the equation. I use their 12’ers and love em’. They have a fast action which is why I like them so much. Scheels makes 5 or 6 different lengths of trolling rods and the prices are easy on the wallet. They have them for 20% off a couple times a year.

I run two JM 8 footers with leadcore and they are great! I’ve used several other rods and for the money I paid, can’t beat ’em.

No experience with Limit Creeks though.

    Good Luck!

Man that’s a tough deal to pass up…hopefully they sell out quick before I pull the trigger.

Just got a pair of JM 14 footers, easy to read but takes some getting use to for landing a fish…..got a chance to try out the Limit Creek Runts (5 footers) last weekend…very nice short rods!

I liked Ganders planer board rods never picked up any of they’re other trolling rods. I’d look into them too but I think they stopped making trolling rods.

Does Gander even carry trolling rods in the retail locations anymore or is it just the online/catalog channel where you can get them?

The Madison WI store had maybe 3 trolling rods in stock period when I was looking a few weeks ago. The guy in fishing said they had no control over inventory so he was pretty skeptical that they would be restocked this year.
