It was set by the factory… I slid the winch stand back to the second hole…

I would say that you are within normal operating circumstances. Heck I see half tons pulling 5th wheel campers with the tops of the tires almost in line with the tops of the wheel wells. Air shocks may be a less expensive route if you only haul your boat, no other heavy loads.

Go with the Timbren helpers, a lot less of a headache than air bags and air shocks. Keeps the same ride when it’s not loaded also.

Airbags work GREAT when towing heavy loads, get the ones that are adjustable

2 inches is a lot–tongue weight should be 50 -100 lbs–put a scale under the trailer jack and find out–kif more adjust boast and winch–good luck–snagged

I loved mine on my half ton, I had the air lift 20000 pounders and the truck has not had a suspension problem in 15 years!

I’ve got firestone adjustable airbags in my pickup with the compressor under the hood (99′ Silverado). I’ve got a pressure gauge in the cab and can raise or lower the back of the truck on the fly. This works awesome with my boat (Ranger 620).

I put coilover shocks and helper springs in my last truck and while it didn’t squat with the boat, it rode like crap unloaded. With the bags, when I’m done hauling the boat I just release the air and rides like normal.

They were installed on the truck when I purchased it so I’m no help with where to buy and install but I definitely recommend them.

That is what used on my half ton. You will get so much more stability in towing by using the spring helpers or the bags.
