Motor Guide Gator mount problem

Had a little issue with my trolling motor on pool 4 on Saturday, I got blown up onto some riprap and got it jammed between a couple of rocks. The only way I could get it out was to use the big motor to pull us off. This unfortunately bent the shaft a little, and broke the bracket where it mounts to the motor. Do I have any options to just replace the mount? Or do I need a whole new motor? (really bad idea… ) Anybody have an old mount they’d like to sell? It’s a Motor Guide Brute 56lb thrust model #756. Or how bout any ideas to get just the mounting bracket? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Steve,

I justthrew my gator mount in the garbage after hanging on to for 2 years. Go figure when you throw something out, you always need it in the very near future. Sorry about that and sorry to hear about your t-motor problem.

One thing you may want to do is to give The Motor Clinic a call and see if they have extra mounts to sell.
They deal with alot of MotorGuide, Pinpoint, and Minn Kota trolling motors and usually have alot of spare parts on hand.
    Good Luck!

    Steve,
That figures! I did call the Motor Clinic, and the service guy there faxed me over a schematic and told him to call him with what parts I needed. I am going to call him today. Thanks anyway!

Well, I called Motor Clinic, and talked with MIke. He faxed me a schematic drawing of the mount, with part numbers. I checked my mount, and called him this morning. I gave him the part #’s I thought I’d need, explained to him what I needed them for, and he agreed that it sounded right. He told me he’d call me back with prices, and he did. Not even 15 minutes later. Price was 55.43 for parts and shipping. He’s sending them UPS and said they’d go out this afternoon. Seems to me to be a good deal, and excellent fast response. If all goes as planned, I will have the motor fixed by this weekend’s opener! If you have any problems with a motor or mount, call these guys!
