I put some non-favorable comments about the Chev Dealer in Hudson on the Suburban thread. I don’t think Merit has a monopoly on bad service experiences. I get PO’d whenever I hear my brakes squeak. Which is everytime I drive my truck. It is a bummer, because I had several good experiences with them.
I do almost everything on my vehicles with the help of a good friend. I usually buy OEM parts from Merit because they are the closest dealer. I likely still will but no more service.
I totally read the post subject in the wrong way. I thought you just bought a really expensive vehicle and spent your last dollar. I thought, “Huh…weird. I’d buy beer, or food, or a new rod.”
The chev dealers in red wing and hastings wanted to charge me over 600 for a t-stat in my car, took it to a guy that actually worked for one of em and is ase certified, not like that matters anyways, I was out the door barely over 200, and he even threw in an oil change

What I forgot to mention, is he set up his own shop
