Suzuki 4-stroke outboards?

Looking for feedback on Suzuki 4-strokes, specifically the 200 HP. The specs on it seem to be quite a bit better than the yamaha to my untrained mind. The few people I’ve talked to that have a suzuki really like it.

Any IDOers running a 200 Suzuki, or any HP model for that matter? Any feedback appreciated.

    Thanks.

The Johnson 70 I have on my current boat was one of the JohnSuzkis. Great motors. I had a 9.9 Suzuki 4 stroke as a kicker and loved that too.

I’ve ridden in a rig with a 140 suzuki 4 stroke and it was really smooth and pretty quiet. That’s always been what I liked about them, they seem really quiet (at least in the 50-150 class, never heard a bigger one).

My 70 wide open is quiet enough that I can talk to the person next to me in a normal voice.

I ran the 140 for one season and prefer the Yamaha. The Yami are a bit better on gas and noise.

A friend of mine runs a 140 and it is very smooth and no issues. Has had I beleive since 2005. I would say it is quiter then the yamaha’s of same HP. IMHO the only motors I would buy would be Yamaha (I have F75) and Suzuki. They are great motors but I have not been in a boat with the bigger HPs.

I had a 2005 140 hp in it’s 5 and 6th year. Ran flawlessly. I had a 2003 25 hp last summer same thing there. Now I run a 2000 model year 50 hp with the Evinrude labeling and it does well also. My brother in law is a big Suzuki fan. He had the 175 hp until he decided to go back to a tiller boat and now he runs a 115 hp tiller. These 5 motors have all worked very well. As stated they are quiet, smooth and have been trouble free.

I had a 2004 115 and now have a 2005 140, both have been excellent motors, quite, and run very well. I do wish I would have got the 150 instead of the 140 as the 140 is lite on HP compared to the 150 for my boat.

Had a Suzi DF 140. Have a Yami F150. Like my F150. Loved my DF140. Way quieter and never had any issues with it. No major issues with the Yami, but a few small ones that are adding up. First thing I noticed with the F150 was that is had a bit of bark to it compared to the Suzuki….called it the Singer Sewing machine. good luck….

Not a single problem with my 2004 DF140. I am starting to boat shop for a Skeeter and I need to find a dealer that will run a Suzuki. I like the motor that much.

I used to have a 140 Suzy 4-stroke. Was a good, reliable and quiet motor. Their dealer/service is somewhat limited, so make sure there is one within reason.

I really like my 140. I had a 2005 Yamaha 115 and then went to this 2005 Suzuki 140 and the suzuki is quieter. But they are both great.

I have run a 200 suzuki for 6 seasons. It is a strong motor and I have had zero problems with it.
