IMHO not even the same brand/strength Floro is the same. Maybe this stuff has a shelf life but I’ve had some that after trying to tie leaders-worm rigs with it, it goes directly into the woodstove. Hasn’t happened lately, but a couple yrs back I had lots’a problems with breakage. Tied a bunch of worm rigs today and not a break in the lot jerr

I sooo agree. The first batch I bought a couple of years ago was so bad I about gave up on it. Broke all the time. Now I am having good luck. I am using Berkly 100% now and really like it.

Like most things, you get what you pay for. Cheap Fluro = Lots of problems. Good Fluro = Not many problems. So to answer your ? – NO

I would say no, but I don’t know how much difference there is between the stuff that is $50 a spool over the stuff that is $20.
I think there are plenty of good brands that sell 200yd spools in that $20 range. Go on tacklewarehouse.com and there are probably a lot of brands you have never even heard of that could be great line. I just check the reviews and test different brands. Just got three spools of Cajun fluoro in 8lb,12lb, and 17lb. So far 8lb words well on the spinning reel. Before that I used seaguar invisx which seems to be a very good line.

I myself prefer “P-Line” fluoro-carbon. Works excellent, also somewhat easy on the pocket book…

I also like P-line. But note it is not 100% floro. Its a coated floro that makes it very abrasion resistant.

I do, mostly a surgeon’s loop, snell knots, uni-knots, all seem to work well if you wet the knot when you pull it down. jerr

It DOES vary a LOT…even just by changing diameters
(# test). I believe the flouros are improving, especially
    in spinning applications.
I have had really bad experiences with with Viscious and 2011 Sufix with spinning, so I switched to Invizx for spinning in 6-8# test and it was great.
This spring I tried the new Sufix in 6# & 8# and it was much better…
The serious fishermen that have used the expensive Japanese
    flouros RAVE about them…
I am using Sufix 10 & 14 for bass casting reels and it is working well so far…a shot of Reel Magic helps a lot. I’d love to try some Tatsu by Seaguar

    Just an FYI

P-line has both 100% flouro and the co-polymer flourocarbon coated lines. Pline also gets my vote for leaders and spinner rigs as it’s abrasion resistance performs well.

Same here. Never one issue and the stuff is tough as nails. Of course I only use it as leader material… I wouldn’t want to see what would happen if you spooled it up on a spinning reel but I’d imagine it would be ugly. But for leaders, spinners, etc., I have nothing but confidence in it.

As for P Line… I have tried every variety made and I have had miserable luck with it. Horrible knot strength, poor overall strength… while some of my fishing buddy’s swear by it.

I have had excellent luck for years with Seaguar brands of Flurocarbon. For the past three years I have also had very good luck with Bass Pro Shops XPS Flurocarbon line and P-line.

I tried Vanish when if first came out. It performed so bad I never went back.

I have to go the other way, I had a number of issues just recently with it breaking on my live bait rigs, so I guess it is back to mono I go…

I spooled some Berkley vanish transition on my jigging rod and it worked well for the walleyes. Some pike would break it but not to often.
