So i’ve had one of my St. Croixs (never broke one like this) snap like a twig at the top 6 inches casting a 1/8oz pegged plastic. I’ve had the rod since December but I’ve only been able to use it a handful of times for a couple months. It’s covered under lifetime warranty but the broken tip section that snapped went into the river when the line frayed at the snap and broke clean. Is not sending that piece in going to be an issue? It says to include the rod and broken pieces but I obviously can’t. I’ve already contacted St. Croix and was going to upgrade the rod but was told “no payment is due at this time” and to just send the rod in with my info and a note for dan to contact me about it and payment. Is this normal with broken rods? I’ve only traded up before and was just instructed to send the check in the shipping tube and that was that. Is the turn around longer with broken rods?
