Do most of you use the micro or the original? I am mounting a lms-330c. So it’s not a huge unit. What do you think? Thanks!!

Unless you are limited on space go with the orginal.

Go with the original. I had the micro’s move in rough water with my LMS 320.

I just installed a 330C with the micro ram. I was tight on space on the dash. I suposed it depends on how much room you have to work with. I haven’t had any problems with it moving in rough water, yet….

I’ve used Ram Mounts for many many years now. I have found the regular ball to be the best. The micro does not hold the units upright and in position in anything resembling rough water with your higher HP boats. One or two impacts and they slide out of position.

If you go slower with a lower HP boat and have a lighter unit you may be OK. The micro never held my LMS-350A on the console or my Pinpoint on the bow. I went back to the larger one right away.

I plan on installing the larger mounts on my new Warrior next week.

They have a shock absorbing effect since they are not rigid.

As a side note, I tried their rod holders and found the high profile caught on the flooded trees here so often that I broke several of them. They also tend to catch the line too often when clients who are unfamiliar with using rod holders tried to remove the rods when the had a fish on or just needed to rest the rod for awhile. I’m going back to Fish-Ons.
