Minnkota Powerdrive Troubleshooting

I was fishing this afternoon and my 2006 minnkota powerdrive appears to have taken a sh*t on me? All was working fine and then nothing. No dead battery or any warning. Does this most likely mean my foot pedal is shot or something else? Just curious if anyone else has had this and what the issue was? I’m not an electrician and not going to tear my motor apart. Sounds like a great time to run an upgrade past my wife

Maybe the relay, check if it has power at the plug or if its plugged in all the way.

Turn the power on then slide the speed control up and down to see if the motor turns on and off. Press down on the slide as you do it. That’s what happened to mine.

Pedal, see if you can borrow one from some one to test.

Pull the cap off the top of the head unit. Look for smoked wires. Give it the sniff test too. Smell for melted wires/plastic.

Check the connection where your motor plugs into the boat too. Same as above look for overheated wires/plastic from a loose connection.
