Anyone have experience replacing the steering cables on a maxxum? Mine broke or came off on my maiden voyage with mine. It’s a used motor so no warranty. I’ve looked around online and found a few people who have done their own. Any input helps.

If there is a service center for minnkota near you take it to them and have it done. I’ve done it once and will never do it again. Replace both cables when you do it or you will be sorry.

Just replace the cables yourself, will be much cheaper than going to a shop and paying $100 an hr labor for him to do it. Call up minnkota and see how much the cable is.

The last time i had cables replaced was 2 years ago. It cost $43 for the cables and $15 dollars for the install. Was done at Sheels in Eau Claire. I find that as reasonable. They had it done all while I looked around the store.
