New tiller boats?

I think the only aluminum tiller that really compares to a glass boat is the Lund Pro Guide.

That being said, if you go tiller, fiberglass is really the way to go in terms of staying relatively dry and a smoother ride that tracks well. Really no comparison.

I think all the good glass tillers have been mentioned above – a matter of personal preference and layout. The one recent entry into the market that is missing is Larson. They have 17 and 20 foot tillers and are introducing a 16 foot tiller at the boat show in Mpls next week.

I’m multi-species but partial to bass and like the floor plan that allows you to lay rods on both sides of the boat for easy access and switching out rods and presentations. Skeeter, Larson and Warrior make great boats but don’t have that lay out. I personally don’t like rods laying all over the boat, or having to go in/out of a rod locker every time you switch baits. Backtroller and Yarcraft do have the side shelves, so if I were to drop the money today it would probably be on the latter. Again, that is just my personal preference.

Just so you know a glass tiller is no drier than a aluminum tiller. I have been just as wet in a Ranger 620T as I have been in my Alumacraft tiller. They are all wet in the wind and waves so claiming one tiller is dryer than another is all a matter of what rain gear you are wearing.

Agreed that all tillers are more of a wet ride than windshield boats… however, my experience with several different boat brands is that glass tillers are about 50% drier than aluminum. Reason is that you can mold a fiberglass hull much more to spray water away from the boat than you can with aluminum.

I can give ya that but either way a tiller is a wet ride. I love ’em though and will always fish out of ’em

There is no logical reason their next 18′ class tiller needs to be over 92″ wide, and if it’s is as wide as the 1825MX I won’t even bother looking at it.

Sure there is. We like them roomy.

I know that there will be at least one 1825 pro guide on pool 4 today if you are looking for a test ride…..
