i’m going to canada this summer on a fly-in trip. the boat we have has a battery in it, so i can run a graph off of it.

i have a portable transducer bracket already, just need something to mount the graph on.

has anyone built anything or know of something to buy? prefer it to be small as possible. some sort of a softcase that could zip up to help protect it would be nice too.

    thanks!

that is just a storage bag.

I need something that i can put in the boat, so i can use the unit.

i’m thinking a genz blue box would work good, but no protection on that type of setup is all.

    Phigs,

I have an HDS-5 and bought the Lowrance Portable pack. It is called the PPP-18I Ice Pack. Item # 000-10209-001
You can find them on the net. Works well

    Phigs,
If you search the net you can pick one up for about $130.00.

    Canada Fly In?

What I used to do is bring my locator up with the mounting bracket and a screw driver. Most of those lunds up there have the wood bench so you can back out a screw and then run that screw through the mounting bracket and back into the bench.

Another option is just a smaller, 12″ square piece of plywood that you can mount the locator too. The locator will sit just fine on the bench w/plywood base. I did this the first year, then noticed all the nice screws that hold the wood bench to the frame…….Ended up burning the plywood the first trip and mounting the locator to the bench via 1 screw on the mounting bracket.

PS: Not to promote “vandalizing”, but I highly doubt anyone will notice two wood screw holes in the wood bench on that boat you will use. So, another option is to bring 2 wood screws and just screw the locator bracket to the bench. You might even find some pre-existing wood screw holes in th bench from previous visitors!

    Phigs,

    Where ya going?
