1983 25 hp Mercury Question

    hey i just bought a 83 merc here and wondering–i know theres a way–but i cant seem to find it–but how do you tighten up the steering on it–its a tiller but swings side to side to easy?? thanks tell me here or im me

    On my 85 20hp Merc there is a set screw near the motor mount bracket that can be tightened.Somewhat near where the tiller handle connect to the motor if I remember correctly, but possibly on the opposite side.

    Ok–I found it–I knew it was somewere easy to find!! I had to tilt motor up and seen it covered in grease!!! thanks for help though
