New kicker motor help

I’ve never had a kicker before, but decided to buy one for my Lund 1675 Explorer for walleye and Salmon trolling. I’ve got a few questions on rigging though…

    1) My new kicker is a Mercury 9.9 four stroke (not a pro-kicker) and my main motor is a Honda 90 four stroke. For fuel delivery on the kicker, can I just “T” off the main line or could this potentially cause issues with the Honda EFI?

    2) I want to be able to tie the motors together, and uncouple them when needed from inside the boat for different trolling applications. What’s the best option for tying them together keeping my needs in mind?

My kicker gas line is a separate line coming off the fuel/water separator
to a bulkhead fitting. Line from bulkhead fitting to kicker has a primer bulb.

I pump up both bulbs to start the day and have had zero issues with
    this setup.

I have a T in my gas line and have never had a problem. If I run the kicker for long periods….sometimes have to pump the ball for the main motor to re-prime but other than that…no problems. As for steering….I have a connector Rod from main motor to kicker and also have a trollmaster to control RPM’s on kicker. This makes it slick for trolling from the counsel.

The proper way is to run a separate line from the fuel tank or fuel/water filter. Another way is to T the main line and install a shut off valve in the kicker line, between the bulb and T. What may happen otherwise is to have the main motor start to draw air through the kicker line.

I have mine teed off about a foot below the bulb for the 200efi on my Ranger 619 below the main.As long as it is before the bulb you are okay. The bulb holds the gas between the motor and bulb and can not drain gas back down toward the tank unless it is a bad 1.Mines been like this for 10 years never had a problem.

My set up is the same as dandorns. Sounds like the other methods work, too, but this one has the added benefit of the fuel/water seperator for both motors.
