Pflueger President Reel Question

    I picked up one of these at the sportsman show last weekend, it says it has a braid-ready spool so I dont need any backing. Does anyone fish these without backing? I have never had a braid-ready spool.

    I believe all it means is ,it has rubber inserts on the spool s the braid does not slip, ya fill it and reverse line next year

    Yeah but does it work I mean. Id hate to mess up a day on the lake or trash a brand new spool of fireline.

    I have two Pflueger Arbor reels that come the same way and I have both set up with braid and no backing and haven’t had a problem with them yet and have fished with them for 2 full seasons!

    Supreme XTs I bought last year were braid ready. They worked! Picked up a couple of the new braid ready Presidents, but haven’t put the Fireline Tracer Braid on them yet.
