Ok I know I need to run 6 ga wire and install a 60 amp breaker for my new trolling motor but my question is, Why are the Minn Kota motor leads only 8 ga wire? 8 ga isn’t rated for 60 amps!

It is in a 12 volt system…
February 20, 2012 at 5:15 pm #104092580 lb 24 v takes a 60 breaker. I think the 36v 101 requires a 50 a breaker according to the manual.
