I am in the market for a new fish finder and am wondering what the difference is with units that have 2400 watts of power as compared to 4000 watts. What are the benefits of 4000 watts over 2400?

The short answer is the higher the wattage, the deeper and more detailed your sonar will read. For use on the Mississippi River in your area, depth isn’t much of a concern but detail is.

PS the old myth that high power sonars scare fish is that a total myth. Fish can’t hear the frequencies used.

    The long answer?
