I have already decided to get a seperate gps unit for my boat, probably the eagle intellimap. I am wondering what is a better middle of the road locator (so I can stay within budget) I am looking at the garmin 250 and the eagle fishmark 480. I’m not to picky on what brand I just want the best bang for the buck (don’t we all). Or is there a better unit out there? What do you guys think? any suggestions would be great!!!!

I’d think about the Lowrance x135. A little more $ but will give you a better performance. What do others think?

I have looked at the x135 and x125. I currently have a x-65, I could get the gps now and use the x-65 until I can save up the extra money. I do like lowrance products. Please keep the suggestions coming!! Thanks.

ive used the garmin 250 for a week now, it is a fantastic unit! Ive never used a newer eagle so i cant compare butr the garmin has been my choice for 3 years now, 250 on the helm, 240 on the bow and a 160 on the back.

Thor, glad to hear that you like the 250. It’s hard to know with new electronics. That has been a popular unit, so it’s nice to hear some feedback on it. If anyone else can offer info on any of these newer units I’d sincerely appreciate it.

Thanks for the info guys. I still have not made up my mind. It is between the Lowrance, Eagle, and Garmin. I will have to keep researching them until one stands out. Keep the suggestions coming. Its nice to here from people that have actually used these units. Thanks again!!
