Trolling motor and depth finder

Is a bow mount trolling motor needed on a tiller boat with a transom mount trolling motor. Just trying to decide if it is worth the extra money for the trolling motor and additional depth finder or if the one in the back will be fine. Also are the Navionics GPS depth finders as good as they look in the catalogs.

Depends on how you fish. If you like working and casting shorlines, weedbends or any other surface structure a bow motor is the only way to go. That is assuming you have a casting platform in the front of the boat.

Ditto that. And the Navionics charts are very good.
