I have a Garmin 240 depthfinder on side console of my boat and am considering buying a 2nd mounting station from Garmin so I can have move my Garmin 240 back and forth from console to the kicker motor. Do I need to get another transducer to use for 2nd mounting station or can boat be rigged to use the same tranducer I am using for console? The 2nd mounting station comes with a gimble mount & a power/data cable. Any help is appreciated.

You can do it either way but if you use the same transducer you will have to make sure it can be routed to move back and forth from the console to the stern. I would recommend adding another tranducer.

i was considering the EXACT thing yesterday, I have a garmin 250 on the helm, a 240 on the troller and have a 160 that I wanted to link with one of the other 2 or switch back and forth…..long story short…on the garmin web page in the FAQ section in fishfinders it reccomends not to because of “distortion”….now with that being said if anyone has done it and if it works ok, let me know!!!
