My wife and I need to get good rain gear for the upcoming season. We’re looking for something like guide-wear or something like it. Gore-tex or equivilant. Is anyone aware of a store with a good deal on some top quality rain gear right now?
    Thanks,

I haven’t seen any personally. Have you tried the clearance areas of big retail sites like Cabela’s, Bass Pro, Gander Mountain…………? I’d check ebay too…………some of those people specialize in “new/retail”, but for a lot less.
SOME being the key word there!

Try the bargain cave at Cabelas in Owatonna, usually not much there for Guide-wear but you never know. I think the catalog is still giving away a free Guide-Wear tackle bag with the purchase of a complete set.

I highly recommend the Guide-Wear. Spend the extra money. It will be the last rain gear you will ever buy.

My first set of Cabelas Guide Wear purchased in 1992 is still in use. I fish open water over 100 days a year and wear the bibs all the time. I have over 1000 days in them and they still are dry. They may look worn and I can’t get them to look clean anymore but they still are dry. I guess I said that already.

I plan on getting another pair for looks this spring and retiring my old set for clients use.

They are not just for rain, I use mine as a windsuit on those cold mornings and on those windy days were even a Warrior can’t keep you dry.

Hey Steve–Check out the Fleet Farm flyer this week. They have the Walleye Hunter parka for $70 and the bibs for $55. I’ve had mine for 4 years and I’m very satisfied with it. They are very comfortable and always keep me dry. It isn’t gore tex–they call it “dry wear”.But it does the same thing
