I believe the alternator in my 1998 Grand Caravan is bad and I’m trying to pull it out to have it tested. I have it disconected, but I can’t get it out. I removed three bolts from the alternator bracket but it won’t come out. Is there a hidden bolt somewhere? How do I get the alternator out?

I did but nothing. I got it out. I quess you don’t need to remove the bracket, just a few hose brackets. NOW, this better be the issue.

Did you remove the pivot bolt from the alternator? This is usually a long bolt and is a part of the mounting mumbo jumbo. With the idler being the adjustment on the serpentine belt they may not use a pivot bolt too.

Yeah, I got it out. Went and had it tested and found out that the alternator was not my issue. The good news is it went in a lot faster than it came out.

that sucks, and their pretty easy to do on that vehicle. That’s why I test them in the car. good luck getting it fixed.

It wouldn’t start so I had to take it out.
