I have never had a problem with mine and neither has my dad. Been running lowrance graphs for the last 15yrs. I have only heard of a few guys having problems but usually its was cause their cable got worn.

Lowrance transducers had an issue with the epoxy several years ago. They even admitted they had problems with some of the “older” ones. See link below.

I had two of the bad ones, but the last one I got worked until I sold my last boat.

I was adviced to get my last one either directly from them or from a place that sold alot of them, so I didn’t get another one from the “bad epoxy” batch. Not sure of the exact dates, but was a couple / fews years ago at least. Good luck….

Lately I have been experiencing issues with what I assumed was a faulty ducer…. Upon further investigation it is a loose connection in the plug in on the back of the unit. Sometimes it needs to be wiggled and some di-electric grease seemed to help.

On a side note the lock knobs on my plugs are loose and allow the plug to wiggle and that may be a factor aswell, Is there a way to adjust them or is the plastic just wearing and Im SOL. I think Im SOL but it never hurts to ask.

If you need the blue connector transducer I have an extra used one sitting around that worked great. Send me a PM if you need it.

That sounds like me alright. I have a LCX27. I got the last one and he said this was one of the new and improved ones. The one I replaced it with was sent from Lowrance for free when they felt bad about their faulty transducers. They don’t feel that way anymore.
