bunk platforms instead of carpet?

Here’s a few pics of some bunks I recently saw on a boat trailer. I liked the idea because they look like they’d last forever, and make loading and launching the boat much easier. I know they may scuff the bottom of the boat some, but I’m not sure about how much damage they may do. I know some outfitter’s sell ones similar to these (glyde sliks), but I’m very interested in these because of their design. Can anyone point me in the direction of these particular ones? I could find no info on them as I looked at them. Also, if you have opinions about their performance, I’d like to hear that as well. Thanks–

looks cool, wonder if they flex at all or more than wood would.

Were those replacement bunks or covers over the existing bunks?

this look like cover up the existing bunks. It would be nice if they come in longer pieces for the two center bunks.
    what about this?.

These on BassPro are not the same as these one are, I don’t think. The Glyde Sticks screw onto the top of the carpetted bunks.I had them on my older trailer and they scuffed up the paint on my boat bottom pretty good. These ones here cover the entire bunk so they may be better.

What are those black ones, Bass, and where did you find those? Never seen those before. Are those new bunks all together? Kinda what they look like.

The white ones that I posted are in fact bunk covers. Not good pictures, but if you look closely you can see that they screw to the sides and cover the bunk. They have them covering carpeted bunks, but if it were me, I’d leave the carpet out of the picture. As far as I can tell, my wood bunks are still fine, but the carpet definitely needs replaced. Was just looking at some different options, and I like the idea of the bunk covers because they completely cover them. I’ve had the sliks before and they were ok, but not something I’d go with again.

Very interested in finding out what those black ones posted above are all about. Thanks–

THESE are not the same as the ones I saw at the lake, but I like the looks of them quite a bit. Not too terribly expensive, either. The snaptrax look cool too, but outta my price range.

    Careful !
I know that I’ve read somewhere on some fishing forum that these things can give you slide-off issues if you fish in cold weather (ice). If you do a lot of that, you may want to look for more information on this condition to see if this is in fact true – or not.

Thanks for the heads up. I don’t fish in icy conditions here in central Neb, only for the fact that we don’t have places to fish in that stuff because it’s all iced up (from a boat, anyways). But I can definitely see your point.
