Minn Kota trolling motor

    I have a 24 volt Minn Kota Maxxum. Does anyone know how much motor shaft end-play is normal? It seems to have too much (maybe 3/16 inch)and I think it jumps back and forth when in use. There are shims in the parts list but I do not know how tight it should be. Thanks for your input.

    When you say “motor shaft end play”, are you talking about where the shaft is connected to the motor?
