I have a few dock scratches in gelcoat of fiberglass boat. What do you recommend for repair of these scratches? Also, any recommendations for fiberglass cleaner and wax to keep boat looking nice and new. Thanks.

If they are small scratches you can buy kits from West Marine etc. to fill them. Larger scratches will require bulk materials. Just make sure what ever they sell you, that it comes with the wax to mix with the gelcoat so it cures. Otherwise you need to cover it with Saran Wrap to keep oxygen out so it cures. As far as maintainance goes I like 3M’s finish restorer and wax as it is a one step product. Good Luck! E.

I dont know bad the scratches are or the whole condition of the boat but to get it back to optimal shine I would start with Meguiars One-Step Compound. Then either use Meguiars Flagship Cleaner/Wax or just Flagship Wax. I have both and the nice thing about the Cleaner/Wax is it will remove more by just waxing. Then in between waxes after I wash it I will spray it with Meguiars Quick Clean. Once you get the boat all detailed up its much easier to maintain it!

As far as keeping your boat clean… Eagle One Wax As You Dry

Spray on and wipe your boat down each time you come off the water…

It’s doesn’t take much and it keeps the waterspots from building up and keeps the wax like shine all the time !!

Bass Boat Saver is what I use. It works great. Like Ecnook said. Spray and wipe down each time you bring it out of the water. It looks freshly washed every time.
