I am thinking about getting a new sonar/gps. I fished Mille Lacs last year a couple times and I am hooked. I think I would learn alot of things about the lake with a unit like this. I don’t have a huge budget, so I am looking at the Lowrance LMS-480 and the Eagle FishElite 480. Is there really much differance? I have always had Lowrance products in the past, but that Eagle has the right price tag. What do you guys think? I am open to any sugestions. Thanks!!!!

The LMS-480 combo unit will work just fine. Get the 1 foot Mille lacs MMC card to go with it and you will be set.

The LMS-480 has more watts which you really don’t need thus the price difference. Ive never owned an Eagle product but you could go with the Eagle and apply the savings towards your MMC card.

Thanks again!! I will have to take a trip to Cabelas next weekend and check them out. I have Cabelas points just burning a hole in my pocket.

walleye1274 – Derek is correct about the LMS-480M. There’s not a ton of difference between that and the Eagle and either one would do a great job for you. Both have been very popular units for our customers. For the money, these are probably the best options out there. Good luck and goof fishin’!
