Does anyone run this boat? Positives and negatives?

I know the Crestliners are notoriously wet, but it can’t be much worse than what I am running now. I have no concerns with the motors (Yamaha), but don’t know anything about the boat. Rod storage is a big question, as well as handling.

Motor is a 115 4 stroke Yamaha, with a T8 kicker. NADA is at $20,000 high end, and $8,200 low end. What is it actually worth?

Thanks guys. Been looking for a long time, and don’t want to make a harsh decision.

I owned a 1998 sportfish for 13 years till last fall and thought it was the best boat on the water.(UNTIL I GOT MY NEW SKEETER)Fished and trolled Lake Winnebago every chance I had never had any problems with the boat.I would say It is worth about $10,000 depends whats on it and what shape it is in.. My old boat was in great shape and traded it in for $10,000. But now I read other sites and find out people that have rotten transoms and other issues with the wood on the deck’s..Mine had a lowrance 510c a 5300 gps a vexilar on the bow a 9.9 kicker w electric start and 8 rod holders. They don’t call it a wet liner for nothin….lol Hope you have a full size truck cause they are heavy boats

i have a 04′ 1600 Superhawk. What are you looking at 1700 or 1800 model? My only issue other than I should have bought a bigger one is that the gas tank is in the rear and runs [censored] heavy. i had to put an extra anchor up in the bow to get to run on plane better and that worked for me. Again my boat is the 1600 with a 75 yamaha 4 stroke and because it is small, it is light so going across a rough lake is rough. As far as wet, I don’t have to much to compare to in a boat that size. but it has a windshield so as long as you are behind the windshield you will be dry.

what it is worth? depends on the shape but a 02′ 1800 at $15000 I would take a look.

It is the 1700. A 115 yamaha and a T8 kicker. The price is right around the $15 mark. Seems to be in the ballpark, but I think right now a boat is worth exactly what you can get for it

Check the transom, I believe that was a bad year for crestliner and some wood rot.

This would be under warranty and it should be transferrable.

I am getting tired of this cliche’… I have run an 1850 and now 1750 for many years. I run Green Bay many times a year Guiding, and am out there fishing in up to 3 footers w/o getting “wet”. You will get only as wet as you want to… Throttle down, keep your bow up and stay into or with the wind at the proper speed and you are fine. If the wind is howling and building 5-6 footers most alum boats are going to get wet.
They are not the Deep V of a Lund but for someone that fishes multi species and does a lot of casting and CPR work…the ample, low front deck is the cats meow. I would not trade mine for any comparable alum boat out there.

    I’d love one…but cant afford a Skeeter…

I have an 2003 1850 Sportfish and looked at the Superhawk when I was looking to me pretty comparable boats. As far as ride it is much drier then many aluminum boats I have been in and handles great.

From what I remember, the Superhawk is basically, the full windsheild model of the fishhawk. Which has the 11degree deadrise V-hull, vs a comparable length sportfish model, will have the “deeper” V-hull with a 17degree deadrise. I owned a 1750 Fishhawk for 8 years, loved it, still miss it. Moved to a Tournament Series 202.

90% of the time you will stay dry in that hull, I had a wetliner for 5 years and they don’t have spray rails to deflect spray back towards the water, you will get plenty wet at times. I bought a 2007 alumacraft 175 tiller and it’s night and day in dryness from the c-liner.

I bought a 2001 Fishawk new with The F115 Yamaha for $13900 and added the T8 a year later. It was great boat for me and sold it 5 years later for $13000. Unless your Superhawk has an upgraded trolling motor and electronics I would think that $15000 is on the high side IMO.

lol Id love a Skeeter but cant afford one

I did the same in big waves on winnebago 7miles per hour with the bow in the air many of time….If you went on plane you either got the crap kicked out of you or when you stick your head up over the winshield the water would hit you in the jibblets…Believe the warranty was 20 years to original owner and 10 transferable but you will ot have a problem with the hull they are solid…and you can buy a Skeeter it’s just money you can always make more
