I picked up a Symetre 2000 for $45.00 yesterday at Wal-Mart in Hudson. It’s last year’s model. It listed for $84.95.
They had one left at the Hudson store. Don’t know if all Wal-Marts have this sale but it’s worth checking out. They were in the display case and not on the floor.

    Wow! I’m on my way….

I love the Symetre reels, they are silky smooth. Hopefully Uncle Wally has them on sale here too!

Running across deals like that is almost like finding cash.

    Awesome reel!

It’s my main spinning rig and I cannot recommend it strongly enough.

A quick ebay check shows buy it now’s for them at $65-$75 each.
Several auctions are at $50 already.
So $45 is a good deal.

I had enough stuff in my hands that I decided not to mess with it………….but I let that reel sit for ya SteveO! There’s some other tremendous deals to be found right now so all you fishermen out there should be hammerin’ your favorite outlets right now. Anything being discontinued is getting steeply slashed to make room for the new stuff!

Last years Symmetre’s should be on clearance anywhere they’re sold. Galyans has been clearing their’s out for over a month, but not for $45…………more like $69 and they had all sizes. WalMart only has 2000 series.

Good score SteveO………….I’m glad it was you that picked it up! I stopped by again last night and decided that if it was still there, I was going to buy it myself! Couldn’t have gone to a nicer guy though!

    ……………..love the new graemlins!!!

    Just a note about Walmart…

I was looking for a rod for the boss today in Stillwater. They had all the clearance rods in a seperate display. We were disagreeing about which rod she wanted (ok arguing) and a fellow fisherman told us to go to the clearance rack and by them both at half price…

So, we came home with a Fenwick and a Big Cat Ugly Stick for $55.

    Fishermen are such nice guys!
    Wives on the other hand….

    Kid,
I was wondering why they had any left at all since I know you have an eye for good deals.
I should have clarified. They had 2 this morning. I bought one.
That means there may be one left.
I know your cup runneth over when it comes to equipment. But dude, 45 bucks!! You really can’t afford NOT to buy it.

I saw the display was gone so I figured that was it. I’ll check again today…………probably too late but I have to go there to get some pics developed anyway. 24″ Sauger last Saturday! Thanks for the heads up!

I picked up a symetre couple weeks ago for $56 …. got a second one today for $46 …. and they got one more … I think our local wally-world (Forest City, NC) marks down on alternate monday’s …. so I’ll check for the last one next week ….. two weeks ago I stopped in the Shelby, NC store as they were marking fishing tackle down ….. including lots of quantum and shimano graphite rods …… now, only two of those new rods are “naked” … most of the stores around here have finished the seasonal clearance on fishing stuff ….. I know cause I’ve checked plenty of them.

I took a peak in the case at the new Super Walmart in La Crosse. They had the old model Symetre for $86.95 I don’t think I’ll be buying it there. I can get the newer model for $79.99 at Gander Mtn.

I noticed that also. The latest and greatest Symetre is 79.99 in Cabelas and last years models are running 84 to 89 dollars. What’s up with that?

I have no idea what the deal is. But I’m half tempted to call Walwart and ask if they’ll match the price to the other Walmart in Hudson. I doubt they will though.
