After seeing all the different ways people come up to store their rods in the garage I’m curious….
Have any one ever come up with something to hang rods from the inside ceiling of an SUV ?
I just bought a used Suburban and want to keep my rods handy but not laying on the floor…..
Cabela’s has a strap type system but it only holds 7 rods…
    Any “custom cobble” ideas??

I’ve got one that I bought that is a good theory and actually works well, but I don’t find myself using it anymore. Come to think of it, I should maybe post it in the classifieds!

I’ll dig it out and see what it is

I searched the web back when I had a Tahoe and there was a company making high quality units that fit in the ceiling. At that time they didnt have one for the Tahoe but maybe now?

I used the Rod saver brand. Just make sure that the strap towards the back is a little looser than the one up front.

I had one in my Blazer that would hold 6-7 rods. I used the clothes hangers mounts to mount a piece of alum rod. Near the rear of the Blazer I had tabs welded on to keep the rods from sliding. I then took clotheshangers and put tubing over. Made them into a hook with a circle. The hook hung against the tabs and the circle went around the handle. The rods hung below the rod. On the front clothes hanger was just a straight alum. rod. I used 2 clothespins per rod to keep them from sliding around. I also put sticky felt on the rod to keep from scuffing the rods. The rods went on top of the rod here.
Hope that makes sense. I think they are in the garage somewhere if you want to see a picture, I can dig them out.

Easiest solution is to use the 2 premade clothing hanger rods that you see the “traveling sales guys” use. No bolts under ten bucks a pop. Easy on and off..
