Just got it out of storage. Runs and idles fine if the choke is on. Will not run if choke is off but will run with choke off if its reving at a higher RPM.

Bad plugs maybe? Just put new ones last year. I’m thinking
    carb needs cleaning.

    Any ideas?

Low speed/Idle jet is clogged. Carb cleaning will take care of the issue.

Very common issue on kickers since the idle jet hole is so tiny. You can get by just cleaning the idle jet hole but might as well clean the whole carb while your at it.

Yep I agree clean the whole carb, here is a tip I got to help prevent this from happening. Every time out on the water when your are done using your kicker for the day unplug your gas line and run the kicker out of gas. This is the best way to help prevent the carbs from getting gummed up.

No need to do that. Just store it with treated gas next year. But as mentioned, the idle jet is super small. Can clog for a lot of reasons. Yes, running them dry is one of them….

Using non oxgenated fuel and a little seafoam will help a lot too.
