Saw this a while back and finally dedicated some time to researching.
First and foremost – knowing about this and telling your customers there’s no issue can’t be condoned. PERIOD! Solders and LEOs have been buying/using these on a false pretense.
Parts of our military clearly knew about this for a while. The suit was filed and settled one day later. Who settles a lawsuit one day later for the exact number if they weren’t in on it before? Clearly pre-negotiated.
Rant over here’s a few more tidbits and a question I had to ask myself.
I own one and really like it. Do I keep it or send it in for my money back?(open for another month) I’m just a recreational user and it’s a range toy. However when I put together my AR the two principles were weight and reliability. If it’s not reliable then it gets kicked to the curb.
If I understand the problem correctly if you zero it at one temp then go to use it at a different temp the point of impact vs point of aim may drift. The wider the temp difference, the wider the shift.
Sounds like you can solve this by doing a re-zero or getting your cash back and replacing it with one that doesn’t shift.
Still debating but probably keeping mine. I really do like the reticle a lot and the odds of the issue hitting me and mattering seem low.
