Ha ha ha!
No complaints about this one other than the motor. It’s a really nice truck in nice shape, but I’ve been scorned!
“New” motor is going in today/tomorrow. Fingers crossed.
Did you ask if they could fit a Hemi in there? Feel like with a hemi you wouldn’t be having these sort of problems…

I’m thinking an LS9 crate engine would be a bolt-in,,,,,,

That would be awesome, ‘cept this thing is getting traded in.
Hope it works out for ya in trade. They end up doing the swap I’m assuming in new hope? Can’t imagine to many Tahoe’s with spinone bumper stickers, saw it when I dropped mine off.

Yup, that was it. I’m working within walking distance of Kurth’s now. Very handy.
so is it going up for sale first thing Ralph or you plan on keeping it awhile?

I’m starting to look. It’ll get sold/traded as soon as we find our next vehicle. Tabs are due in July.
I said goodbye to the Tahoe last night. There was a lot about it that I liked, and it was in really nice shape, but when your wife doesn’t trust her vehicle, it’s time so say goodbye.
This followed me home.

Few therapy sessions would’ve been alot cheaper….
Nice ride.
Way more power than the old one.
No kidding! It blows my old Sequoia and my Tahoe out of the water.

Did you have the 4.7 Sequoia? I’ve been seriously considering either a Sequoia or 4runner with the 4.7 when I’m ready to move on from my current 01 Silverado 5.3
I’ve had GM and Toyota cars and there’s just no comparison in my experience. Thinking the trucks may be similar and the Toyo 4.7 seems highly regarded for its reliability/longevity.
EDIT: Congrats on the new rig!

I had an ’01 Sequoia with the 4.7. I don’t think I ever had a single motor issue. I traded it in in 2016 with 170K on it. Very impressive motor.
boy those Toyotas are sweet. I don’t use my tow vehicle for a daily driver so I only put about 5-10k miles a year on it. As such my 06 Durango is still limping along but when it comes time to upgrade/replace ill be looking long and hard at these sequoias. Something tells me though that he price range will keep me looking elsewhere for a while

We have a 2004 Sequoia. It only has 124,000 miles on it. It is our hauling vehicle and we have 2 other daily drivers. It has been very reliable for us. Our boat is a MX2025. Loaded for a big trip, full tanks of gas in both the boat and SUV, cargo topper, 3 kids, I wish it had a bit more snoot off of the line. If you get a 2005 Sequoia you gain 50 extra hp, but I don’t think the torque was increased. The only weakness we have noticed is the handle/mechanism on the back hatch. We have had to have it repaired/replaced twice. Depending on what internal parts break, it was a $250.00 or $500+ repair.
Our first full-size SUV was a 98 Expedition followed by a 2005 Suburban. We loved the space in the Suburban, but we had so many issues wth it from electronics, multiple break issues, 4 wheel drive, This was all before 50,000 miles.
Hope you find this helpful.

Yep, went through that several times. Finally, we just had the entire mechanism replaced. Problem is that if it breaks, you have no way to open the liftgate (with ours, at least).
