Seeing any Grouse?

    What’s the word on birds? I don’t expect any good news but I’m heading up for my annual weekend in early Oct. hitting the north shore second weekend of Sept.

    I’m thinking we’re on the down swing. I believe the peaks tend to end on years ending on the 10s. I was up setting up bow stands west of Cloquet on Labor Day weekend. Did manage to see some birds. Even saw a covey of 5-6 birds. Small tails so I’m sure they’re this year’s brood. Nice to see there’s enough to hunt.
