    Hi all,
I am building a 6.5 by 12 with 3’v front and have a few questions regarding the wiring. There will be 3 interior ceiling lights, 2 exterior lights, and fan on 12v. And I will have 5 110v outlets for phones, tv, and xbox/dvd player on 100v. I know how I’m going to wire all my lights and outlets but not sure on how to connect my batteries, inverter, and converter together.

I will have two lead acid batteries, 2000 watt pure sign wave inverter, and inteli-power converter. There will also be an exterior plug in for shore power or generator. What should I have for fuse boxes and/or service panel in the house? Should I have an auto transfer switch?

Any and all help is appreciated.

What you really want for this application is an inverter charger. This device will invert your 12vdc to 110vac it will also charge your batteries when plugged in but it will also have a built in transfer switch. Either way you will being hooking up your batteries in parallel so + to +, – to -. You can do this with a standard inverter and charge the batteries with your charger when plugged in but you will not be able to use the shore power without a relay switch or by manually switching some connections. The inverter output will be fused and so will your generator so there is not a need for a fuse panel on the 110ac side. Obviously you will have to fuse your DC leads from the battery to inverter. Your manual that came with your inverter should give you the correct fuse size for your application. Make sure to have the AC wiring heavy enough for the fuse rating of your generator and inverter output fuse.
