Looking for an electric home power washer 1700-2000 PSI (<$200) for general use around the house. Really have no need that justifies a more expensive gas unit.

Anybody have any experience, good or bad with electrics?

Lots of brands and lots of BS on the web…

    Appreciate it.

look for higher volume also to go with PSI you want.
Pressure is good, but volume is just as important.

In addition, you need to consider what your water supply line can feed the unit. this includes the line size inside the house, pressure if on a well/pressure tank (doubt you are in MG). and also hose dia. and length hooked from house to washer.

Should not run into too much of this issue on the smaller electrics but may if you get above the “happy homeowner” models.

I have an earlier version of this Ryobi unit. It’s actually been very good, I figured it would last a couple of years like my previous electric washers did, but it’s been over 7 years and it’s still going. It’s not a 10 HP gas unit, but the nice thing about electric is you don’t have to worry about damaging surfaces. The Ryobi cleans pretty dang well for 2000 PSI and I like the on board cord and hose storage.

I’m with you in that I have the same need for a pressure washer but I don’t want a gas unit that needs to be maintained and stored. I don’t use it enough, so when I want it, I want plug and play.

The biggest thing is to be sure you winterize the pump if the unit gets left in the garage or shed. Leaving water in the pump and then having it freeze = game over.

+1 to anyone who mentions volume. Just like a leaf blower, volume is actually more important than pressure (or top speed).

Had a graco electric PW that lasted one season. Water and Electric don’t seem to get along well.

I had an electric for a very long time. I want to say 20 years before it quit. I dont recall the brand but it was a nice little unit. I think it was PSI

My electric pressure wash has been ok for me for 3 years now. One thing I found funny was in the manual it said I should not hold the trigger down for longer than 30 seconds at a time. It has over heated / shut down on me once after 2 hours of use and would not start back up until the next day.
My uncle had a 240v twin turbo pressure washer I used when cleaning his hog barns. That thing would push me across the pig poop like I was on roller skates as little 12 years old boy.

I have the 1600psi Ryobi and the stuff I’ve used it for it has been fine. Here’s some pictures of a little patio area that was the last thing I used it for. I didn’t think it needed to by any stronger.

I got a Power Washer brand electric from a family member for free two years ago. I’ve used it probably a dozen times and it works well for the price and size. Definitely not the best unit around, but it works. I don’t think I would want to wash my deck with it, but it does will with the vehicles and ATV’s.

I definitely love my Ryobi Honda 190, but the electric is easier to move around when doing small jobs.

I have the electric ryobi and it’s ok. I bought the gas ryobi powered by a Honda motor and it’s been great. Not very much difference in cost. I use the gas one every day. And the electric a few times a week. I cut concrete for a living so I pressure wash tools and work areas daily. I would recommend the gas ryobi at home depot over the electric any day

I’ve had a Snap-On 2000psi 1.4 gpm electric pressure washer going on 7(?) years now.

It’s been an awesome little machine for me that gets used all the time (almost weekly in the warm months, and a handful of times in the winter)

I think I paid around $175 for it from Menards.

Never would have imagined it would last this long or that I would use it as much as I do. Great for home owner projects like washing the boat, vehicles, and grill. Also works for the occasional bigger projects like the deck or siding (but obviously takes more time than a big one would).

I love it and would buy another in a heartbeat. Great machine for the price.

I put a quick connect fitting where the garden hose hooks up, makes it even more convenient to use.

Got an electric 3 years ago to do our deck, eaves, and also our summer house in Sturgeon bay. It’s really quite strong, I think about 2200 psi or maybe 2000. Our decking on both places is plastic, but when we get close to our gazebo, you have to be careful as it will instantly take the stain finish off if you are too close. Nice, powerful, easy transport, and can keep in the basement in the winter. Now to its faults. If wanting to use some soap or cleaner with it, it won’t work under pressure, you have to foam it out first, let it sit, then run the plain water under pressure to clean. Maybe they are all this way, but just doesn’t seem like how they should be designed. Lastly, the most irritating, the longer you use it, the faster it will kick out. Probably get 20 to 30 sec when you start using it, but after using it for awhile, figure 8 to 10 sec max before it kicks out and you have to let go of the trigger, wait a few seconds, then you can squeeze the trigger again.

I have used many electronic models and they all have been less then desired. Being i cut concrete, I make lots of clean places dirty. I went with the honda powered ryobi from home depot and its been going for almost 3 seasons. Winter and summer. Amazing. Just used it 2 days ago. 4 degrees out side. Worked amazing. Flush it washer fluid and good to go

I am not sure a good one is made. We tried a few at work, all failed soon after issueing our Crews with them. Waste of money.

Hotsy make good electric power washers. They are big $$$$$ if you get one with the hot water they work really well and you don’t need as much PSI to get things clean.

I run the Stanley 2150 cold water pressure washer around the house. It works pretty good for most applications. The foam cannon it comes with is junk.
