Electric Motors

Hi, does anyone have any recommendations for an electric motor for a 14 ft long inflatable KaBoat? Ive been considering the Minnkota trolling motors but have noticed a couple other electric motors (one being very expensive and other is 1hp around $500) but no lists or resources to give a wide view of what is available.

I may just go with the minnkota but want to see if there may be a better option. I’m looking to keep the cost under $800 or so.

    Thanks

I would go with either a minnkota or motorguide. You can get a decent trolling motor for $800. Look for used ones on craigslist and in pawn shops and you can get that cost down even further. 55lbs thrust should be fine for something inflatable. No-name chinese ones from Amazon will treat you poorly.
