Have anyone tried the green ryobi one + brushless hammer drill for ice fishing? Planning to get one bc the milwaukee is out of my budget.

I’m pretty sure you will burn up the ryobi pretty quick.

I think the most suggested lower cost option is the Rigid brushless purchased through Home Depot. The lifetime warranty is nice.

I am not a fan of Home Depot but am very impressed with the Rigid line.

I have 3 years on a Hitachi brush less hammer no complaints. 2 battery’s plus charger from Menards. I think it was 170.00 bucks. DK.

Which auger are you planning on running? I purchased the Rigid package because for $290 I got the 700 in lbs hammer drill, impact driver, and the circular saw with three 4ah batteries.

While it doesn’t like turning my inherited, questionable quality, 8″ Mora….it rips with the 6″ K-Drill I just picked up.

Well the ryobi has 750 lb of torque. More than the ridgid. I will probably be using a 6″ nils or kdrill

Can’t speak for the Nils, but you’ll be fine turning the 6″ K-Drill.

Believe me, I’d love the raw power of the Milwaukee, but I couldn’t justify it. For the 8″ drills, it likely matters. If you’re sticking to 6″, you’ll be fine with one of the “lesser” reputation drills as long as you’re in the 700+ in lbs range.

Don’t over think it…just get out and fish!

That will be more than enough for a 6″ Nils. I use a Compact Dewalt that is somewhere in the 400in lb range with my 6″ Nils, they do not list their ratings like many other mfg’s.
