OK all you electic experts. Why wouldn’t this work.

My kids have a 12 Volt kids ATV. And, of course, I picked the one that has a battery that is no longer available. Nada. I’ve looked EVERYWHERE.

So I found a battery at Walmart. EXACTLY the same specs as the original battery. 12 Volt, 12 AHR. The ONLY difference is the plug that plugs into the vehicle and also serves as the port to plug in the charger.

Can I just cut off plug A and replace it with plug B using butt connectors? The charger is 12 Volt at 1 AHR.

    Why wouldn’t this work?

as long as the plug can carry the load, not an issue.

Yes it should work, I have done the same thing to a small scooter in the past.

Have you checked with a batteries+ store? A friend of mine was able to get them to rebuild a battery for one of his tools and he is very happy with it.
