East Coast Drones

Anyone have a theory on this topic?
US or foreign? Reason why?

Start shooting them down and then we’ll find out who they belong to…my belief is DARPA or some other govement org…if not that, then some hobbiest group trying to get attention.

Just read these drones are 6 foot across and can fly in formation.
Supposedly they are violating numerous FAA regs. They have been flying close to Military locations, so why not take down a couple?

How do you shoot them down over populated areas. The falling debris alone would kill someone.

I’m sure there are areas where it is safe to shoot 1 or 2 down. From what I saw some come in over water.

Or take a police chopper up and fly along side and try and ID them. I think drones have to be licensed with the FAA

I believe that is correct, they have to be registered with the FAA. There’s also regs about where you can and cannot fly them. Are they entering restricted air space, like over airports?

My understanding they are flying over a Naval Base.

Unrelated but did anybody see the drone show on America’s got talent? I believe they had like a 1000 drones that made different pictures and changed colors. Pretty facinating for this old guy. If anybody is interested go to the 2024 finals of America’s got talent on You Tube.

Maybe they are being flown by chinese illegal immigrants and can’t get a license to fly them while they spy on us.

I think the vast majority of what people are seeing are not drones at all but normal aircraft. Don’t believe half the crap you read on the internet even stuff you see there is so much computer generated crap out there. Heck at one time I was convinced the Ram TRX could do wheelies and I showed my son and he said you know that’s from Grand theft Auto right?

If it’s anything like the Chinese spy balloon, nothing will get done under the current admin.

It could be a lot of things, but my money is on the theory that it’s secret US military activity and the government playing dumb is all part of the cover. Same with the documented UFO sightings by military aircraft throughout the 2000s. No better cover then to play dumb or say it’s other-worldly when it’s really a big controlled experiment.

Also there are covert parts of the military that explicitly do stuff like this to test the reaction of the rank & file without them knowing it. If this is what’s happening, I’d say we’re failing.

They don’t move fast and they should be big enough to show-up on radar. Not sure why they can’t be tracked. At some point your average citizen with resources is gonna find a way to take one down and then maybe we’ll see what the fuss is about.

I can’t believe someone hasn’t taken a crack at these with a rifle. Reports are they are about 6’ wide with some flying lower than 1000’. I know it’s the east coast but someone has to try it. Some seem pretty rural so you wouldn’t drop it on your neighbors lawn.

What if it starts shooting back? What if it gets downed into traffic or someone’s house? I saw a video claiming to be shooting at it with tracer rounds but it was an airsoft gun.

I wonder if these things are being programmed to operate autonomously. It’s not hard to measure what frequency they’re operating on and triangulate back to where it’s broadcasting from.

Many police departments have systems setup to detect drone frequency activity, related to the shot detector/locator systems.

There’s bound to be some HAM operators playing hide and seek with the drones. You could probably use a Software Defined Radio to find whatever frequency they’re using. HAM’s make a game out of tracking down pirate sources.

I grew up in pretty rural small town – someone would def be shooting one down . Rifle in every other truck come coyote season .

What’s crazy is how often these drones are used in the Russia Ukraine war . Tons of videos on Reddit that aren’t for the faint of heart.
