Early Spawn? Good Opener?

Was watching some walleyes swim up creek last night to do their thing. Approximately a month to opener.

For opener, should we still be looking for spots close to spawning grounds or with this much time will they be out in “later spring” spots etc?? Seems like at a minimum, they wont be super lethargic in recovery mode like they quite often are some openers……

I know it’s a while out, but I’m already plotting……

Depends on a lot of things, weather until opener , bait fish, body of water.
I never, ok most of the time, have great luck in northern MN on opener. Usually go to cabin due to tradition.

Would be better off heading south or west most years.
