Hello I was thinking of some some early season Catfishing from shore down near the confluence of the Vermilion and the Mississippi, probably a little ways up the Vermillion. I have never done any early season cattin’. Would it be worthwhile ? I was thinking of parking near the railroad bridge at Catfish Slough on the Vermillion and hoofing down along the river. I have never been there but it looks intriguing from aerial photo’s.
    Thanks

That’s just what I was thinking.

I had a thought of fishing the back channel wing dam from shore until I had a look at it last evening. The water isn’t over the road but it’s in the trees.

I don’t know if I’ve fished that area this early, but giver a try..even by the bridge.

Thanks for the replies. -During midsummer how far up the vermillion can one usually travel in a 17 ft deep v type of boat?

Sorry I can’t answer that. I seldom pass the train bridge because of the two vs one line rule.
